Far and away or.....

urban "jungle"? Coming round the cemetary Pioneer Park continues and becomes a little urban oasis.

There's the office buildings, right past that herd of longhorns.

365-68

This is the first time i recall finding moss on a tree in my yard. Or perhaps i never really paid attention before. I remember when camping as a girl scout we were told we could determine what direction to take when hiking if we got lost by looking at the moss on a tree. Moss usually grows on the north side of a tree because that is the shadier and thus damper side. Sure enough thats the side this moss is growing on, the north side.

Birds on a feeder

I set up a little bird feeder a couple of weeks ago and they have been hesitant (at least while i was watching) about actually getting on the feeder. It's meant more for the smaller type bird (as is the seed) but the white winged doves don't care as you can see by this photo. There are two of them on one side (hence the lopsidedness) and one little finch-type bird on the other. I had been spreading some seed on the ground as well to draw them in and it seems to have worked!

365-19 Little critter

After several tries, i was finally able to get a pretty good close up shot of this elusive little bugger.
